Widefield Shots from New Zealand

Post by ivan »

Hi Folks!

Here's sharing some images that I took using an unmodified DSLR and polarie from a recent trip to New Zealand. All the shots were were taken from Queenstown. Despite some slight light pollution, the sheer transparency of the night sky still made it possible to capture the beauty of the Southern Sky. All the images were taken using a Canon 6D DSLR on a Vixen Polarie. Special thanks to Luanluanpai for the polarie loan.

The actual fov for the images are actually wider as I have cropped each of them to some extent.

Large Magellanic Cloud

Small Magellanic Cloud and 47 Tucanae

Thanks for looking!

Cheers,
