My past M42 images

CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!

My past M42 images

Post by weixing »

Hi,
I was organizing my hard disk lately and discover that I still got all the M42 Orion Nebula images that I took in the past. From the first M42 image I took in 2004 when I just started DSO Astrophotography to the recently 2006 version... total 5 of them.

2004 version: Sky-Watcher ViewMax 127 and EQ3-2 with CoolPix 4500 and WO-4337 eyepiece adapter.

2005 Jan version: SKy-Watcher 6" F5 Newtonian and Vixen GP mount with CoolPix 4500 and WO-4337 eyepiece adapter.

2005 Feb version: SKy-Watcher 6" F5 Newtonian and Vixen GP mount with Canon 300D at Prime Focus.

2006 version: SKy-Watcher 120 F8.3 Achromatic Refractor and Vixen GP mount with Canon 300D at Prime Focus.

I reprocess them... some of them show much better result and some remain around the same.

Have a nice day.

Hi,
This is the 2006 version that I took early this year. Reprocess to show more detail in the centre of the nebula, but the false colour is more obvious.

Have a nice day.
