The Wild Duck Cluster, also known as M11, is an open star cluster in the direction of our constellation Scutum the Shield.

It is located 6,200 light-years from Earth and has an apparent magnitude of 6.3. Of the 26 open clusters included in the Messier catalog, M11 is the most distant that can be seen with the naked eye. The best time to spot the cluster is in August. M11 is one of the most densely populated open clusters known.
