Good targets to photograph.

CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!

Good targets to photograph.

Post by perchloratepenguin »

Hi

I am a newbie to astrophotography and want to photograph some objects. I have an Eq mount so tracking would not be an issue. What objects other than M42 can we photograph during this time of the year? TIA.

Thanks! Was thinking about the magnitude and whether it can easily be viewed by a scope tho.

Carina Nebula would be suitable this time of year if you have a good view of the south to from 15 degrees above the horizon. This nebula is bright, covers a large area and is relatively uncomon to northern astrophotographers.
