Eagle Nebula from Desaru

Post by rcj »

Hi all,

Here is the only image 'salvaged' from the recent Desaru trip. We had three oppotune nights but only the second night had a clearing long enough to capture, even then, a luminance image of the Eagle nebula in Sagittarius. Three combined exposures of 15 minutes each. It was convenient setting the system up about 30m away from the comfort of the bedroom within the resort and running on electricity. However, shortly afterwards, the sky had several passing clouds that made it almost impossible to continue imaging. It was mostly an 'eat-sleep-chat' trip thereafter plus a solar viewing session next to the pool!

Here is:

Here's another version with a slight aggression on base-level processing and higher contrast...

Shall we turn that place into an imaging base? Haha, it is very convenient setting things up there.

Hi Meng Lee,

You bet! I can imagine having the banana split again! *slurp* Next new moon period? I have someone else interested too. We can book the same room or the one closest to the edge... BTW, anyone else is welcomed to join us!

it's above RM300 but below 350 i think for twin sharing. additional cost for one more extra bed to make it triple sharing. weekday rates are below RM300. we could do a 3D2N thingy either from Friday-Sunday or Saturday-Monday. I figure total cost per person (exclude food) should not exceed S$150.
