Milky Way

CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!

thanks guys for all the kind words. i think it proves, for me at least, that nothing beats good clear dark sky, better still at high altitude.

may be we should do a star party at laban rata. lights off at 2100hrs. light dome from kk was actually below the obs site. the rocky helipad should be able to accomodate 5-8 setups.

rm7/kg up & down. for my lxd55 + tripod without weight for dslr tracking widefield shots and a 66mm for visual and drift alignment ... should cost about rm100-120 for the porter.... i'll definitely go back again!

Wow! Wow! Wow! Yo! Yo! Yo! Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!...
Good to see another crazy person climb up the mountain for astronomy. Make me remember my last trip there...
At high latitude, for astrophotography, really got it advantage. Above the major clouds forming layer, dryer weather, no need do too much colour balance correction in computer, less noise (cold weather)...
