Wow!! Very nice Mars pictures you have got there. Got questions:

1. Was your barlow a 2x or 4x barlow?
2. which mount was your 8" on?

if you reduce the brightness of the shots in the post editing, you may get more details? just a thought ...

mrngbss & jermng,

I used two 2x barlow with effective focal ratio at F36.6 for the Mars image taken on 8th Dec. And one 2x barlow + extention tube for another two Mars images. The effective focal ration not calculated.

The 8" SCT was on fork mount in Alt-Azt mode. Since each color channel & the luminance take 1 minute each, so should not have field rotation or in minimum.

Nice pics. If Lovell were to see your Mars Images, he will bet his last dollar there are trees and grass on mars! :lol:
