Veiwing the moon when its almost fully face on and viewing the moon when its oblique to us during quarter phases makes the craters appear different. i guess the sunlight reaches all the way down into the basin? Depression? Of the crater and illuminates the fluff.

Yeah, I'm also wondering maybe the full-moon phase makes the craters throw more reflections directly our way.

Either way, bright enough to be almost painful directly through the EP. Luckily I could dial the ISO down on my camera to view it comfortably!
