Building my first scotch mount

Wanna make a scope? Or better still, grind a mirror yourself. Or, you have some good tips in making a really useful accessory? This is the place to show what your hands can do...

Building my first scotch mount

Post by joachim.ong »

Heys. I am planning to start work on a scotch mount tracker that I can use. Not very sure about exactly how I should go about making it so I thought I would make a post here and see if anyone could give me some advice before I got started. Would be good if you could link me to some sites that I could do my homework on... Getting a bit confused as to how I should start (My first DIY project here...) [smilie=bad-atmosphere.gif]

defu lane is full of wood. but you have to buy in large quantities.

places like DIY Shop sell unfinished wood shelving that you can cut up.

but the easiest way is to go to Daiso (either Vivo or Dhoby Ghaut). they have a lot of wood pre-cut in convenient sizes. $2 a piece. the only drawback is, it's really soft wood. Easy to cut and work, but also not too sturdy.
