Losmandy G-11 Zero Latitude Problem

Post by TelevueNut »

I am seriously considering this mount as my first EQ mount for photography. However, I live very close to the equator (in Ecuador) and the altitude adjustment on the mount only goes down to six degrees. Therefore, accurate polar alignment is not possible without modification to the mount. Has anyone else dealt with this problem? I was told Losmandy had made a fix for it at one time, but it seems to no longer be available for sale. If there is a wedge or other solution available, I would be very interested in hearing about it.

you can get custom made wedge locally, cost around $130. I use for G11 mount.
