DIY stepper focuser controller

Wanna make a scope? Or better still, grind a mirror yourself. Or, you have some good tips in making a really useful accessory? This is the place to show what your hands can do...

DIY stepper focuser controller

Post by orly_andico »

I've developed an Arduino sketch that emulates the Moonlite focuser protocol. So you can build my focuser controller (very simple), and use the Moonlite stand-alone program or ASCOM driver to control it.

Uses the Adafruit motor shield v1.2 with one minor modification, so very minimal assembly work is required. Works perfectly with both the Moonlite stand-alone program and the ASCOM driver (tested from a trial version of Sequence Generator Pro, since I don't have MaximDL).

Currently only supports the MSM20 Microtouch motor, although any other bipolar stepper motor would work just fine if the motor were not too large.

Stupid me, didn't understand much about what you have wrote. :) But appreciate your taking time and effort to share this with others who will understand and benefit from reading it. [smilie=good-job.gif]
