Homemade motofocus

Post by anat »

I have just finished my motofocus project. I use a stepper motor with a motor driver from a local company. It costs about S$60 for this project.

I rearranged the wire from the driver to a hand controller.

This shows how the motor is connected to a focus knob.

This is the hand controller and the driver box. Now I can make fine adjustment without vibration for my webcam photography :D

How about one for refractor? Rack and pinion focuser? WO says they are going to have one for the FLT...but no news ever since...

Kingkong:

I bought the driver from a company named INEX in Bangkok. http://www.inex.co.th/products/type/ele ... board.html Unfortunately, you cannot order online. I found other options: KITSRUS K109 K113 K158 K179 http://www.kitsrus.com/kits.html#k109 You can order it from http://www.ozitronics.com. It costs about AUS$30. Please check whether it is pre-assembled or not. Ozitronics ships fast. I bought the stepper motor+gear+belt from a used market and they cost me about S$10.

anat, since there's no goto on your lx10, how about a homemade dsc (dave ek's plan) for your next project?

cheers,
