Wanna make a scope? Or better still, grind a mirror yourself. Or, you have some good tips in making a really useful accessory? This is the place to show what your hands can do...
I have seen that many of you are using the 410 geared head with a photo tripod. I also use it. I would like to share my experience on the geared head. I find that the slow motion is good for tracking but it has limitations on quick hand-panning for star-hopping. So I modified my geared head by
1) making a lock screw for the azimuth release knob
2) making a handle for releasing the altitude and for hand-panning
wah Anat....you should open and online store and do supercharging services for telescopes, geared heads, etc! Perhaps you next project is to add a motor drive?

Rich, thank you for the online store idea. For now, I enjoy DIY for fun
Pretty creative, the bicycle chain look-alike is totally awesome. Excellent idea. It looks good too! I can see that a lot of effort is put into this. Well done!
