c8 dew shield

Post by kingkong »

two questions, really:

1. the longer the dew shield the more effective it is. true or false?

2. anyone know how to work out the maximum length of extension of a dew shield (say, from the corrector plate) before it will cause vignetting in the scope's fov?

Even with a dew shield on, the C8 corrector plate will still dew up on very cold nights. On such ocasions, dew heaters are still required.

r, thanks for the reminder. a diy-dew-heater-strip-that-wont-start-a-fire is in the plan, but one thing at a time. dew shield first. ;-)

That is just a rule of thumb. From my previous experience with my C8, I prefer to get one at least 2x.
