In less than a few minutes, it can be broken apart into pieces :) The lens cell and focuser are simply screwed into the main tube. Because the tube is squared, there is no need to have a collimation mechanism at the lens connection.

WO uses a 6-step foam baffle. This is how it looks like. It fits in the tube end near a focuser. Someone in US reports that the foam slips under low temperature.

That is all :) As long as we can find a tube, it is not difficult to make a good scope :)

Buy lens cell direct from lens manufacturers? There will be much fun. but I will have problems with the measurements.

I used to make one from a TMB 80/480 lens. You can find the post in this forum.

does that mean we can upgrade non-APOs to APOs just by changing the lens elements inside. :D If possible I'm tempted man!

coating and grinding lenses isn't a "big" problem for me..

You are right! William Optics has APO grade lenses for upgrade too!
