DIY Hartman mask for focusing

Post by Barry »

I whipped this up in about an hour and a half. Great fun!

If anyone would like one made up, I now have a couple of dozen squares of white laminated MDF (Craftwood) to make Hartman masks up to 300mm in diameter. PM me if you want one (small fee for Bazza's astrofunds plus postage) and I will be happy to custom make one to fit your scope.

Just to show that I'm not a profiteer, I will put the instructions on making the mask on the A.S.I.G.N. website under DIY projects.

Hi Barry,

that is a nice project you have there, and noticed that you are using the more effective "triangle" method. Quite neat! I am just using 'paper' versions...
