Wanna make a scope? Or better still, grind a mirror yourself. Or, you have some good tips in making a really useful accessory? This is the place to show what your hands can do...

Amateur Observatory

Post by df1990793 »

Hello, I am a student from Victoria Junior College. My school has an astronomy club, recently the school is planning to build a small observatory, but the problem is we need to send in a detailed proposal before they spend money. Do you all have any suggestion such as what kind of dome, telescope should get and where to get relevant information. Thanks a lot!

One of our vendors Wee Kiong (lee) should be able to give you some pointers as he built the one at Starville Condo. Albert Lim from the science centre's Astro Science also provide such service also (see his website).
But of course, if yu want DIY, perhaps Barry from down under can help but I think building materials and workmanship can be an issue...
