Hi,
Anyway, I think the world largest amateur telescope is Erhard Hännsgens 42" (1.07m) f/4.5 dobsonian in Germany. See below link for more information and pictures:

His website is at: http://www.cruxis.com/scope/scope1070.htm
Have a nice day.
It's possible, but I think you need $$$$$$$, time, space and may be you'll need a permit to own such a large telescope in Singapore.i am wndring can we build a 36 inch telescope in singapore?

i like it. what a wonderful telescope. i know it, it will be somthing like this but now can see more clearer from the image. i can tell u, here it is possible. we can build folding type so still can put in the house.
who knows may be someone will have it in singapore....right?
thank you for your comments. i need more comments.

There are also other practicalities to consider: built an observatory to house it or buy a (bigger) vehicle! A folding design also has its own strengths and limitations. But it is good if you are really building one, I will be happy to queue up to observe. I can lend you the book 'Unusual Telescopes' if you want to check out other ideas! It's possible, but I think you need $$$$$$$, time, space and may be you'll need a permit to own such a large telescope in Singapore.
