I believe someone on the MFLenses.org forum experimented with these projector lenses before. They have a lot of coma off-axis and CA. But these were older ones, only the Leitz ones were decent. Maybe new digital projectors have better lenses?

Hi Croys
Astro optics are more expensive because of the material and design considerations but a projector may not need that kind of resolution accuracy and was designed more to withstand high temps. Not sure if such an objective will make a good astro "eye" but if you are using it for very wide view images, i suppose it will not matter that much.
Do post your progress with photos here if you intend to proceed with this journey :)
