DIY Dew Shield

Post by Gary »

Just bought this black foam from Popular Bookstore. $2.90 for 10 pieces. Only 2mm thick. May be too thin/soft as a telescope dew shield.

May be good material for a Telrad dew shield though. Will keep you guys updated.

Completed my DIY dew shield using 2 black plastic folders and velco. Will compare if this foam is better.

If that foam is not closed-cell, it might end up absorbing moisture...

Put them outside for 1 night, the next morning place them in a zip lock bag and zeal it, put it in the sun.

If moisture is absorbed, you will see the bag misting up.
