Where to get that foam for telescope cases?

Wanna make a scope? Or better still, grind a mirror yourself. Or, you have some good tips in making a really useful accessory? This is the place to show what your hands can do...

Yup I got my plywood from Defu Lane as well....

Getting there is no problem with a taxi. But getting OUT of those little lanes is hellish, as no taxi goes in there. Had to walk out the first time I went there..

I swear, things never change -- amateur astronomy is a pig without a car.

Yes Defu is like that! Getting there is no prob. If you don't know exactly which factory you wish to go, finding it is hell...unless your trying your luck..lol! Then it's getting out...dress light, bring water and slow walk out to Hougang kopi tiam!

@Gary; ok...when I can I'll grab some shots. Not so soon as it's all work late late late next few days/weeks! But the payback is good!
My wife never complained about how much time, effort & money I spent on my Astronomy hobby!................suddenly I met her!!!

Haha bring up this old thread, i visited Marvid Pelican Dealer recently and asked about customizing the foam, they can custom to any shapes and sizes. Have to leave your items there a couple of days for them cut out the shape for you.
They are not using the Pluck foam type which can become soft after a couple of years. The semi hard scratch proof type.
He let me see some of the samples and they are quite nice.
Anyone wanna consider can pay them a visit.

He did mentioned that the price will somewhat be similiar to the Pluck foam set for the various boxes.
But cost might varies depending on how difficult the shape of the objects u r going to put it in.
So best is to check with them. LOL
