Hi,

I just want to thank Chrisyeo in maintaining our SingastroWiki page. Some of you might not aware of it. Here's a sample of what's in it: http://www.singastro.org/web/mediawiki/ ... hp/Mersing

Thanks for the link ... and the time to write the page!
Has someone gone there recently? is it still one of the best places to escape light pollution near Singapore ?

Thanks

Hi JY!
Yes, Chris has been very enthusiastic about this and I think Gavin contributed too. Mersing is deteriorating unfortunately. The light from the city build up is getting apparent as is light in the opp direction. Overall, it is still much better than Singapore skies and you can still see the milky way clearly there...
Cheers

The light dome from mersing is in the E-SE direction only and maybe up to 30 deg altitude. I would say its still very good and well worth the trip! :)
