Ya, I'm really glad it landed well. Have been following this story for a few weeks in anticipation.
According to NASA, its only the 3rd successul soft landing on Mars (as opposed to using airbags) and the first since Viking 2 in 1976.

After watching the animation segment showing the actual powered touch-down sequence, I think it is truly amazing how this was achieved back in 1976. Incredible. Now, aren't our jobs in S'pore so mundane by comparison?
