Saturn and Moon pics taken with ETX90
mm.. in case you want to know, the pictures were taken using a ETX 90mm RA on the morning of November 4th.
Saturn: Creative webcam using 2x and 3x barlow respectively. About 300 frames each, stacked and processed in Registax2. This is the result straight out of registax. No other modifications.
Moon: Canon ixus 500 through a 27mm eyepiece. Sharpened slightly and noise reduced in Neat. Inset details were taken with the movie mode through a 15mm ep on 3x zoom, and stacked in registax2.
Note tiny crater chain below-right of Ptolemaeus (inset top-right),
Huyginus crater (crater in a rille with collapsed wall; inset middle),
and the alpine valley (inset bottom)

Not easy for a f/5 scope to do that rich!Airconvent wrote:wow chris, if the etx can do so well...think what your 6" aperture will do!
why not try it and see how the results will turn out?
cheers

However, if can use a 4x barlow to bring to around f/20 on the webcam, I think it's still worth a try. For tracking, just use your hands to push, Chris. Need a little practice, but can be done if you are viewing that webcam using a small TV. Just be very gentle for say 10 seconds. Since you are using video...it's ok if you can't track it very accurately.
