High-resolution Solar Image using C11 + Quark

CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!

High-resolution Solar Image using C11 + Quark

Post by yltansg »

Previously, I have achieved good results in H-Alpha high-resolution solar imaging with a PST etalon-D-ERF on a C11. After 3 months of tinkering, I finally succeeded using a Daystar Quark with the same D-ERF- C11 setup. This is the setup:

The Sun is quiet today. Nevertheless, when you peer in, you can see many fibrils in an interesting landscape. The width image is about 240 arc sec (about 1/8th of the diameter of the Sun):

This configuration looks promising and I look forward to using this setup for high-resolution solar imaging with a Daystar Quark for Solar Cycle 25.
