Can someone advice what is a tabletop tripod? It is not a full height tripod? What is the diff between this tripod and a CG3 tripod?

Thanks.

Hi,

A tabletop tripod is a very small version of EQ1 mount that is around 13 inch in height... so that you can put on top of the table. That's why it is call tabletop. A CG3 is an full height EQ mount... EQ2.

I don't recommend you to get a Tabletop scope for your first scope. Remember, don't get a scope just because it is cheap and regret it later. I think Dan will be selling his C-114HD with CG4 mount soon... it will be a lots better choice than the Tabletop scope.

Have a nice day.

Got the offer paper from Dan and thought of buying the FS114EQ, but when I look carefully, it comes with only the tabletop tripod instead of the standard tripod that it supposed to come with.

Sigh.. my dream shattered yet again..

That's what I thought initially, but the specs on the paper stated "Tripod: tabletop".

Hi,
You can use your 4.5" TableTop or ETX60 as a grap and go scope... will be useful on night when the sky suddenly clear up.

Have a nice day.
