New Road to Mersing

I did not manage to read the newspapers today but my friend was telling me he read about a new road to Mersing...he thought it was good news but I was telling him, better roads=more people=better infrastructure=more lights=BYE BYE DARK SKIES ! Anyone can confirm the article. I think he also mention a possible toll too....sigh...

the earlier article talked about developing the islands (I assume as resorts) but now they are building a highway...that could mean the mersing site could be urbanised very soon....:-(

anyone know of a spot as good as mersing that is in malaysia?
I dont think an apppeal to the malaysia government would matter to them, there less than 5000 people interested in astronomy in Malaysia and SG, so its not gonna make an impact on them. Sigh...
