Scintillating Sirius

Post by celeron787 »

A fun little project that was on my to-do list.
Extremely easy to do, simply center the star and set it out of focus. A 30sec video should provide more than enough frames to put into a nice collage.

The star Sirius can be seen shifting through every color of the rainbow. That effect is due to atmospheric turbulence that bends starlight slightly and makes stars look like they’re twinkling. These air fluctuations bend different colors of light by different amounts, giving Sirius its multi-hued appearance.
