Also note that NO PROMINENCE SPOTTED TODAY. ALSO DIDN'T SEE ANY FILAMENTS.

Thanks for sharing the photos and those 3 photos of the instruments. They certainly cost a fortune!
By the way, that small unnamed sunspot in the southern belt mentioned is designed as sunspot 2919.

Thanks for your comments. Going through the video recording, I found a bird transit recording. Sunspot 2919 was also recorded
To see 2919 and how the bird flapped its wings, do a right-click followed by click on the + symbol.

During the Christmas period, the Sun was covered with as many as 10 sunspots in both hemisphere. Unfortunately the weather was poor and I did not manage to do any imaging
More sunspots are coming in from the far side later part of this week, one of which has given off a coronal mass ejection recently. It would be interesting to watch. So stay tuned.

AR 2924 has moved nearer to the western limbs and developed beta-gamma magnetic fields which have energy for M-class flares. Caught it flaring

Active region AR2936 is ushering in an active Tiger Year.

Today's sun.... 23 feb 2022......in Ha only
Just finish obs of the sun in Ha..
3 very active regions in northern and southern belt.
Tonight will post detail.
Note.... Its quite some time since my last post.
Reason is some misalignment happen to my self
made double stack solar filter(with a lunt and a colorado ethalon). The sensitive image that I can view prominence, filaments and active bright Ha regions simultaneously SHIFTED TO THE VERY EDGE OF THE VISIBLE IMAGE. Spent quite some effort to figure out why and then solve it. ITS OK NOW...... To be continue....

Sunspot 2953 in Ha was glowing brightly at around 4pm
Sunspot 2854 and 2955 not so bright, but its surroundings are filled with small bright cracks.
In the southern belt, one bright region visible..... Unnamed because no sunspot there. Also 3 long filaments visible here., one taking a U shape and almost reaching the sun pole., but note that these 3 filaments are only visible in my lunt, colorado double stack..... its not even visible in the colorado double stack PST. Thus the rule:the narrower the bandwidth the more you see.

From sunspot 2991 to 2996 looks like a whole region stretching from north to south sun., separated only by a small gap.
Region 2991 is hugh in the south., both in Ha and Cak, although in white light it show up as just two TINY spot.
Region 2993.... 2994 is hugh with bright cracks all over the shop. Both region each stretch at least 1/3 of the sun diameter. Fantastic sights..
In 540nm....
Sunspot 2991 is SMALL., just two tiny dots
While 2993, 2994,2995,2996 are. Big spots each surrounded by smaller spots., clearly a sign of activities.
Now, this is what I want to see during a solar cycle.!!
