I'll be progressively sharing the various exchange I've had with this person known as Richard Low, or @rlow for those on SingAstro in hopes that his horrible, outrageous, characater is made know. Or at least perhaps for the other members of this astronomy community to be aware and steer away from this person.
I've had the chance to come into contact with Richard Low, known as @rlow around here in the last few months (first met on 7th October at my CCK session). From my initial exchange with him, he seemed like a nice guy but things quickly became weird -- he very willingly "shared" his experiences, and of alien sightings (maybe a joke?).

As I was in the midst of recruiting team members to help organise a community event in Chua Chu Kang and thought to invite him to join us given:
1) He is a senior in the community with many years of experience;
2) He is a familiar face to a few others in the team that has already been helping me out at the Chua Chu Kang CC.

He offered some, if not all, reasonable comments to the proposal which I later included in the first submission.

Notice here how he agreed to keep things simple, which was not how (originally) my event later developed into. But nonetheless, he was still a very nice guy who appeared to be a be knowledgeable and very willing to share.

Soon after, his passive-aggressive nature shows.

At this point, the alarms in my head had already gone off multiple times, his continuous hounding and passive-aggressive phrasing made it rather difficult for me to work with him.

As you can see here, my delayed response due to my personal and work commitments became a problem.
End of Part I of this massive nightmare and a work-in-progress.
It brings me no joy in spending my few and far-between day off this holiday season to be sharing this with everyone here.
But this needs to be known.

Thanks for the heads up.
Just a word of advice, continue what you are doing on your own, with your own group, you do not need help or collaboration from anyone regardless if they are seniors or experienced with the hobby. You are perfectly fine on your own for that matter. From my experience, there will always be people who will want to collaborate and its not for the passion of the hobby but wanting to gain credit, recognition, popularity etc and even earn some monetary gains out of the whole "collaboration" and the best part, we doing this for free for the public and the community.
I have not had any positive experience with anyone senior in this hobby from Singastro forum, all these seniors are just so full of themselves and always showing off their expensive equipment and fancy knowledge and quite funny that they believe they own the astronomy scene in Singapore and try to impose their forceful opinions on the activities we do for public. To me, these are just a pack of jealous wolves. Just IGNORE them, continue what you are doing....these people will always talk bad about others.....these people will always have something to say about the activities we do for the community etc.
You and your team are doing great!
Happy New Year 2024!
