Which months have clear nights?

I just arrived in Singapore 2 weeks ago and it seems to be cloudy or raining everyday. Obviously, this type of weather is terrible for AP. So, which months are the best for AP?

My equipment will be on a slow boat and it’ll be a few months before they arrive. Hopefully, the weather cooperates then.

P.S.I had asked in a separate topic about the best weather app for AP for Singapore like Astropheric but I did not get a reply. So there is none? Or a good website for this. I use meteoblue (select Astro conditions) which does have Singapore weather conditions + seeing predictions etc. Have people used this?

As Singapore is near the equator, most days the weather is changeable. You are unlikely to get crystal clear blue skies continuously for a whole day or days in a row like in California or Arizona. However, we do get a few hours of relatively transparent skies with few clouds, a few days a week during the drier months like Feb/Mar and Jul/Aug.

Thanks for sharing the meteorblue link. Looks interesting.

AP is challenging in SG, but not impossible. Planetary AP especially, is doable as our atmosphere is quite steady once the object is away from the horizon. I have not tried AP of Deep Space objects seriously (yet), but I’ve seen others share their photos taken through narrowband filters from here and the results can be almost as good as those taken in darker skies.
