Thank you for trying to help, but still, your reply doesn't asnwer the question. These three statements "Wolf-Rayet stars are green", "Wolf-Rayet stars are much hotter than O type stars, which are bluish-white" and "According to Wein's law, the hotter the star, the bluer it should be" are "true". Yet at least one of them must be wrong, else there is a paradox. Which, then?

Hi Quantum Gravity,

My reply to your question was based on the assumption that the 'green' stars you were referrring to were 'blue-green' in Class F. Also, I think that the green in Wien's law refers to Class F stars in order for it to hold true.

If this does not answer your question, that has left many others, including me, stumped, could you rephrase your question in a clearer manner please so that we can all understand the issue at hand :)? I did not get what you meant fully, so my answer could have not been what you were asking about.

Have a nice day

hi! may i ask a question? NGC_5139 and QuantumGravity seem to know alot despite being so young. Wow. Where do both of you study? Singaporean?
Cheers~

Hi,

Well, as for me, i learn these stuffs mostly through interest, self-reading that is. Some of the knowledge come from my school, as astronomy is my CCA. Yes i'm a singaporean and my school is in my signature. Anyway, these stuffs are basically what you find in "normal" astro books, so i wouldn't consider them too advanced...

ic but to an amateur, it's dazzling. Btw, a theory of quantum gravity has yet to be theorize. Probably a lot of those unanswered questions regarding black holes could be solve when physicist discover that theory, but for now we can only speculate.
:S well, i shouldnt delve into unrelated stuff. :S

well, physicist are currently looking for an equation ( or equations) that can fully describe the 4 fundamental forces of nature: Weak, Strong Electromagnetic and gravity. Currently, we have quantum theory(which deals with things at atomic level) and einstein's general relativity(concerning gravity). When physicists try to unite these two theories, they ended up with equations that are filled with anomalies(many different solutions). You may ask why do we need to find such a theory. Well, it will answer many unanswered questions in physics like the properties of black holes and maybe the event that causes the big bang. Both of these questions deals with highly concentrated objects(therefore, has a very very large gravitional pull ) and the objects are very small (therefore the need to incorporate quantum theory).

I get it, you mean the GUT.

It's TOE

GUT only unifies strong, weak, electromagnetic. TOE is all 4.
