Hi, CC,

I bought the Gitzo 1500 brand new from Cathay photo, it is around 700+. It is a very good tripod but too pricy. If I was given chance to choose again, I would buy a wood tripod instead.

cheers

I managed to get Manfrotto 075B (2nd hand) as an alternative.
This is previous model to the current 475B.
The payload is about 12KG.Very sturdy and weigh only 4.3Kg.
It is gear type column which may be redundant.

Here's the pics of Astroslew on Surveyor wooden tripod.

Liu Ming, I think you'll need to re-upload your previous images.

So odd....a Mak with adjustable secondary mirror....
but this set up looks very robust and heavy ...more suitable for large scopes?

The adjustable (collimatable) secondary is the hallmark of Rumak Cassegrain as opposed to the aluminized corrector found in Chinese Gregorian Maks.

Vin, just buy a replacement knob from Yong Seng screw ($4). I bought extra if you want.
