Astro Pic of The Day - Lunation

Post by kayheem »

Take a look at the following site:

http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/astropix.html

It gives a new astro pic every day and I have it as my homepage. The image for today (13 Nov 2005) is an animated gif file which shows the diferent moon phases and the slight tilt of the moon during its whole cycle. Interesting pic.

If you are reading this on the 14 Nov, the image will have changed and you will need to go to the archives to look for it.

Hi Kay Heem

It looks better on my office PC as the network is much slower. At home, with boardband, it happens to fast to see the libration clearly.

Cheers,

Hi boothee,

Good job! However, you only did half! Try to catch the other half of the lunation if you can. Also, it will appear smoother if the image was smaller. Just my 2 cents.

Hello kayheem,

Thank you for your kind suggestion & comment. Now I'm in rainy season. I have a plan to try to get the whole lunation on comming winter and summer. I'll surely let you know once I've done it.

Hello siahheng,

The link is still working for me. ;O) Please try again. Hope you will get it.

Cheers !!!
