the peak would be on 19 nov. however, the max number of meteors even under the best skies would only range from 10-15 per hour.

agree...you must first have an interest or intention to take up the hobby.
I saw in the past under a clear sky where a bunch of guys and gals socialising during a star fest...they were more interested in getting to know each other better than looking at cool objects in the sky! I mean, we have 5% time to see these objects and 95% cloudy skies to talk later. Man, what a waste of good seeing conditions!

Hi Angeline and all,
Yes... I suspected exams must be around the corner as it was very quiet in SP. Do focus on your studies as the skies will always be waiting for you.
Best wishes in your exams and hope to see you all after the exams!

just to inform you guys about my results: :)

L1R4: 9
L1R2B2 (for aeronautical engineering): 10

my first 5 choices are all at SP, while the rest are at NP (choices may change...i havent applied yet...)

btw, for aeronautical engineering....is priority given to students who have taken pure physics and A-maths?

Nice result you have there.... 8)

I think the school will give priority to those who have taken Pure Science and A maths.

Anyway, if you get into SP, don't forget to visit SP Astronomers! :D

Sam

mmm...I must be getting old...i have no idea what kamikaze is talking about except that he's talking about his aggregate score? anyway, the astronomy community in singapore has its roots extended everywhere....you don't need to wait for SP to join in the hobby, right? but hopefully we can see him become more active on friday nights once he comes in?
