Who is holding on to the 16" Dob?

Subject says it all.

Who is holding on to the scope?

Any chance it can be used by other Singastroians at Mersing (by rent or otherwise)?

I am quite keen to take a look at how it can be improved and used.

Wira is holding on to it. There is some balancing problem to be resolved but currently he is busy, cc is overseas and chuang yee appears to have taken a break from astronomy...
Unless you can get him to go to Mersing, chances are it will stay un-used a while longer...let me try and call him first and see what happens...

why don't we take over the scope and use it as our "club" scope?

i don't know how much has been spent for the scope, but i'm sure the current owners will consider selling it if they don't see the chance to use it.

Sorry guys, I have already been approached by someone who has the intention of taking over the scope, but will consider letting it go to others if the deal does not materialise. In any case, I need to discuss with Wira and Chuan Yee first. No decisions have been made at this point.
