Just to confirm, is it that we still meet at Kranji at 2pm, then we three take a taxi to clear through the custom, or we leave earlier?rlow wrote:Good ob list, Jiahao, though some of the fainter and low contrast objects will require skies with the clearest transparencies to be visible through the bigger scopes.
I was suggesting that 3 of you can take a taxi at the same time and if there is no jam, the taxi should clear thru very fast; you do not have to disembark and join the queue for people passing thru from the buses. If anyone have any other suggestion, pls let us know.
I just realized that sunday is the first day of the fasting month, need to stay at home with my family. Terribly sorry that I have to pull out last minute. TWO vacancies now available!

Its a pity that our two 'old birds' with the 'heavy machine guns' cannot join us. We have two space to fill up, so please invite a friend along, for once the monsoon season starts, we will not be going to Mersing again until March next year.Just to confirm, is it that we still meet at Kranji at 2pm, then we three take a taxi to clear through the custom, or we leave earlier?
Hmm... with Arief and his 'porta grab-n go' setup out of the picture, we can consider other options! Meanwhile everyone will still meet at 2pm at Kranji MRT.

So Richard, we all meet at Kranji MRT at 2pm right? OK.
Besides, you are gonna bring your Mewlon210 right? I wonder if you have a 32mm Plossl ep and a dewshield for a 5" scope (you have a C5 right?) As now I neither have a 32mm ep nor a dewshield for my ETX125. If you do have them, can you bring them on the trip? Thanks.

Yes, I can bring a 5" dewshield, Oxygen-III filter. I don't have a 32 plossl, but I can bring a Orion ultrascopic 35mm (widest lowest power for 1.25" barrel).
For those newcomers to Mersing, please note the following suggested items to bring:
1. dim red torchlight
2. starmaps
3. jacket or sweater
4. sleeping bag & groundsheet (if you intend to sleep) or you can sleep in the minivan.
Food, drinks and mosquito coils/repellant can be bought in Mersing. Best to wear long-sleeve shirts, long pants and shoes, unless you are mosquito-resistant!
