Camera Backpack to recommend?

Here is the place to talk about all those equipment(Telescope, Mounts, Eyepieces, etc...) you have. Not sure which scope/eyepiece is best for you? Trash it out here!

Just tried out the photo trekker aw2.

It's able to take the following equipments:

1) c5 ota (with piggyback mount)
2) 3 x 1.25" ep (26mm,12.5,5mm)
3) LPR rear cell filter
4) 2" NPB filter
5) 2 x 2" ep (40mm,30mm)
6) telrad
7) 6x50 right angle finder (with quick release bracket)
8) D70 with 2 lenses (18-70mm, 70-300mm)
9) SB800 flash

I've yet to add in a 2" big barlow but am quite sure it'll fit. The tripod was able to fit to the tripod carrier on the bag but was a little shaky due to the tripod's size and weight and that it was held by bungee like cords. no big prob tho.

The bag's cushioning is very comfortable but i've yet to test it on long walking trips. shouldn't be a prob from my route march experience. On the whole i find this bag suitable for those having the above or similar in quantity equipments. HAve a look at the pics.

Wow! looks good and comfortable! And you have a very cooperative model Mum that also double up as ob buddy at cemeteries! :) Just need the 2" barlow and the Star Atlas, right?

The Lowepro photorunner cost less than $50, I like it as it is very versatile and compact.

Rlow,

Thanks. I will look into it. Those eyepiece aluminum cases a bit too big especially i will only use 2x2inch, 4x1.25inch eyepieces. The celestron eyepiece alu case i have cannot fit 2 inch eyepiece. :(

Hi Weixing,

Apologies for the late reply. The Tamracs are available at ProPhoto at Plaza Sing. They are more ex than Lowepro but do offer better protection. That said, my Mini Trekker has gone through real rough usage for the last 7 years. :)

If you do not real good padding, Tatonka camera backpacks can be purchased at Beach Road (Army Market). We use them for storing DV cameras like the Sony PD-170s and the bags are bigger than Mini Trekkers, at the same price (120 odd).

Cheers

I bought the S&T Pocket sky atlas for <$40. But need to wait 6 weeks. I felt this is good and sufficient for me. No need to lug the bigger and more pro version! :D
