Thanks Canopus for the encouragement. But I bought the Astroscan for a purpose - and it's nothing to do with optics! I always wanted one since I was a kid - and dreamt about it, but didn't have enough money then. So when I grew up, and have a little money, I decided to fulfill my childhood dream. So I bought one! That's it! The aim is to 'buy', not to 'use'. Heh...
This Celestron one, however, does not have any appeal to me...although I must say the curves are smoother... now we all know what these scopes look like..

[80% Steve, 20% Alfred] ------- Probability of Clear Skies = (Age of newest equipment in days) / [(Number of observers) * (Total Aperture of all telescopes present in mm)]
I wonder if the 16" can fit into the back seat of a car (not the boot compartment)? If not, Meade may have to change the tagline "Space is infinite... your back seat is not."
Actually, it sounds like "Space is infinite... your backside is hot"...

Yup I think this is a new 'creature' other than the category of Steve and Alfred. So Tachyon probably can modify his S and A composition to include this new 'creature'.
8 inch APO... hmm.. I think need to earn $$$$$$$$ dollars to buy one of those including the big mount and truck required. Better not to think of getting one of these
