New Year's day Rainbow
There was a giant rainbow today, New Year's Day 2007, at around 6:55pm, near sunset.
It stretched from about 5 degrees above one horizon to the next, and about 65 degrees wide.
There was also another faint rainbow above it at one point in time, though only on the left side, as far as i could see.
here is a photo of it, stitched from two. not sure if the upload would be successful, though. Can anyone see the photo? I can't seem to on the preview.
Did anyone else see the rainbow?
Think its a positive sign for S'pore in 2007!

haha..hi gavin...someone saw it on the pentax forum and took a picture too but only half. your panoromic picture is good but after sticthing, recommend you crop the end to a rectangle to minimise the impression of curvature.

there was no curvature in either of the original two images. the lens was set at the widest setting (18mm with a digital SLR) because that was the only way to capture the entire rainbow with a minimum of 2 shots.
here is the right half.
the curvature was caused by the program Photostitch. also, i did not want to crop the ends away because i wanted the full width and height of the scene to be shown. maybe i will try to tweak the stitching parametres to see if the curvature can be minimised.
