Last night cleared long enough to test out the TOA (first light image series) on imaging performance and getting a feel of the FOV and field coverage for notable objects. Here is a preliminary image of Lagoon Nebula to share with everyone. Quick and dirty processing! More data on this object soon...

You mean monochrome? It's because the picture's taken in one wavelength - Hydrogen alpha. That's in the red part of the spectrum, so no green or blue in this picture.

am using the ST2KXM which has a resolution of 1600X1200.
there are colour images as well, but not as often, because it takes more time to gather the various components. right now, i am trying to gather some colour data of eta carinae, but still have two more colour components to go, before the project is completed. the colour components are also more sensitive to effects of lunar light pollution, and with addition to our current weather patterns, it makes the gathering of these colour data even more challenging. but it is possible, just takes more time and patience.
