Hi Meng Lee,

I am interested. Counterweight included? Can you recommend what tripod is suitable? I have a Celestron 4SE.

Hi Christopher

Is the pic of saturn in your avatar taken through your 4SE?

Oh, but the GP mount is without tracking and without GOTO. But for future expansion of tracking and GOTO, GP2 is versatile in that.

I can include counterweight at a low price. I can also include a modified mount base so that you don't need the half pier.

Suitable tripods will be:

HAL130 (Very stable tripod. but heavy and expensive)

AL130 (Lighter, cheaper, but less stable)

If you are keen, I can plan out the whole set for you. It can be fitted to the C8 and basically it will be an intermediate-advanced user set.

Hi Meng Lee,

Yes, some recommendations from you will be grateful.

Hi Hommel,

Yes, the avatar is a pic of Saturn I took about two days ago. It is really my very first attempt and quite a lame one, I am afraid.

Hopefully I can learn more from this forum.

The GP mount is a bit too large for 4SE Mak. Ok, before I make recommendations, here are some questions to find out your aim.

1) Are you intending to go beyong 4SE? As in, getting a larger scope to see more things?

2) Do you need a GOTO system to find objects?

3) How much weight can you carry? If you have a car, then you can carry more and larger scopes.

4) What is your budget?

5) Do you intend to get deep into this hobby?

Thanks for answering this, I hope to recommend a suitable set for you.

The saturn pic is quite good, the cassini division is easily seen, just turn down brightness and gamma a bit.

Thanks Meng Lee for the advice on improving the saturn pic. It was taken with NexImage through the 4SE and then processed with Registax. Will a Barlow help to improve details?

I will PM you on the rest of the questions.

Yes barlow will help i great deal in Saturn...
you will get a bigger image, a dimmer one with more detail, you need a tracking mount for best work.
