Hi all
I'm currently using a celestron 4.5 inch reflector which comes with a CG-4 mount. I'm thinking of getting a goto mount for the reflector but all the mounts i had found are designed for much larger and heavier scopes (Thus more expensive and heavier as well.). Wondering if any of you can recommend me a smaller Goto mount for a 6lbs OTA.
I'm also wondering if any one knows if its possible to outfit a CG-4 mount for goto capacity.
With regards
Jiayi
Looking for a Goto mount
Hi,
SLT owners who want to sell your mount, can consider selling your mount to Jiayi.
Fitting CG-4 (EQ-3) with GOTO seems to be difficult.

Question
Thanks guys. But i got a question. How do i attach a reflector to the mount, given its one fork nature. Hope Meng Lee can explain to me. =P
oh, if i am not mistaken, the attachment of SLT scopes to the mount is by the dovetail attachment.

I would say, at certain angles, you can't reach the zenith. Example, when the tube collides with the tripod legs, but otherwise should be ok.

true. from what i know, the 5" reflector is a short tube, which shortens the tube but still mantains the focus length. heard its' becos of a barlow lens they put in it. mine is the older model, thus i'm more concern with the full length version hitting the tripod. Put Meng Lee is right about one thing, if i just avoid the zenith objects, guess shld be fine ba.
yes, SLT 114mm is 1000mm focal length due to the barlow lens in the focuser, avoid such scopes at all costs.
