Skytopia 2008

Just a little update to my email from a few months ago.

Skytopia 2008 looks like it is going ahead for the 6th to the 10th of March 2008 in Victoria, Australia. It is going to be in the Mount Macedon area where there is an observatory nearby.

At this stage my wife and I and our LXD75 8"SN will be going with our camping gear as will two of my mates, one with no scope and one with a Meade LX200 12" GPS. For us guys it will be a 1000km road trip (looking forward to it immensely).

At this stage John Dobson is tipped to be the guest speaker (designer of the Dobsonian mount) and I have read that a convoy will possibly be driving across from Western Australia. I think it promises to be a great social and astronomical event.

I also believe that there is a substantial lucky door prize with Real estate, a scope and an observatory involved

Thanks Arthur I'll note that down. Do hope I can make it being in Victoria myself but I might have a conference to attend in Perth around that time hope that doesn't clash :shock:
