My new EPs have arrived!!

Post by vhuang168 »

So these finally show up after about 4 months after I place the order. They supposedly shipped me the 4 and the 9 last month but after 2 weeks of waiting still no eps. So they said they'll ship me some more but have to wait another 2 weeks because they are out and were waiting for more.

1st picture shows a comparison in size. Starting with a TV 20mm Plossol, the 3 new ones, a 4mm TMB Planetary and lastly my largest ep, the TV 41 Panoptic.

2nd picture shows the new eps. Notice they still say TMB. I like the Made in Germany stamp.

Can't wait to try the monos out!! I'll compare them to the Planetary and Naglers. Don't have Radians anymore to compare.

How come the 9mm have different wordings compared to the other monos? Or is the ring black only?

I just rotated the eps to show the different markings on each side of the eps.

I have Orions's large EP case and its not enough. I also have a another case with my surplus items (diagonals, eps etc).

Pardon the newbie question, but from the photos, the aperture of the 9, 6 and 4mm seems extremely small. Won't the image be extremely dark and hard to focus with such high magnifications ?

The lens is small because the AFOV is only 30 degrees and the eye relief is very short. The supermono eyepieces has the highest transmission possible (99 percent) because it only has 3 lenses. They are BRIGHT.

Ah....thanks for the clarification.

Being a photographer, I tend to think in terms of photographic lenses and that seems like a very small aperture.
