Here is a 'rough' image of NGC3628 edge-on galaxy (Leo) taken during extremely windy conditions in the recent 8th March Mersing trip. Due to high frequency of passing cumulus clouds (although the transparency was above average), this is a stack of two 5-min frames using the 5-inch refractor and SBIG camera. There was just not enough clear sky time to take it in colour as originally intended. Well, guess it was a shot in the dark! Note that the viscinity around this galaxy is known to have numerous X-ray sources such as quasars, etc.
