My Astrophotos from Mersing (Mar 2008)

Post by loneoceans »

Greetings everyone!

I don't have a telescope nor an autoguider. Just a camera and a tripod. I'd love to do some deep sky photography in the future, but here's what I managed to get at my first astro trip to Mersing. Still processing images, but here's one for the time being!

001 Milky Way with Clouds and Lamposts
Image

08 Mar 2008, 11:21pm, Mersing, Malaysia.

ISO1600, 30s, 10mm f3.5, Canon EOS350D - 4 photos stacked with Deep Sky Stacker.

View of the Milky Way from Mersing. Sirius at top right; Canopus is the bright star at the bottom centre right. Visible constellations include Crux, Vela and Carina (etc..)

More coming soon, comments very much welcomed!

Thank you all for your kind comments! Yes I am indeed loneoceans from clubsnap. I've been really busy recently, and also unexpectedly, but I'll really try to fix them photos up!

Here goes my next photo!

002 Orion Constellation from Mersing.

Image

08 Mar 2008, 08:43pm, Mersing, Malaysia.

ISO1600, 10s, 50mm f2.0, Canon EOS350D - 9 photos stacked with Deep Sky Stacker.

Widefield of Orion. Of note is the Orion Nebula, and you can also make out the flame nebula at Altanik (and a faint smudge of purple where the horsehead nebula should be). Comments much welcomed as usual! :)

Yes, well done. the M42 looks like a reduced version of Weixing's effort.
