can put this on an aluminium surveyor tripod?
any adapter required to do this?

Hi,
The mount bottom screw is standard tripod thread... 3/8". Not sure about the size of the surveyor tripod, but I think is different and you just need to get a replacement screw for it. I never use a surveyor tripod before but a lots of our member had done that.

Fyi, surveyor tripod uses 5/8" screw while our Astroslew mount uses 3/8" screw treads. There are two ways to resolve this: either replace the 5/8" screw with a 3/8" screw (which I had done for my surveyor tripod) or buy a 3/8" to 5/8" adaptor (Manfrotto etc) to fit into the Astroslew mount.
