hi,
anyone have any dipsky pics sample those taken with inexpensive Achromatic Refractor.
i am wondering that how the image image color will be by using Achromatic Refractor for astrophotography. as i know apo is better then Achromatic Refractor.

Hi,
I tried it before using the SkyWatcher 120mm F8.3 Achromatic Refractor.
IMHO, not very suitable... the F8.3 version is a bit too slow and the CA is quite obvious in the image even at F8.3 with VR filter... the F5 version will be far more worse.
Below are 2 images I took 3 years ago that I found in my hard disk:

If you want to have a low cost imaging scope with decent image, get a Newtonian.
Below is an image I took using my previous Celestron 8" F5 Newtonian:

Good luck in your imaging quest and have a nice day.
