astrophotography with Achromatic Refractor

CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!

Hi,
I tried it before using the SkyWatcher 120mm F8.3 Achromatic Refractor.
IMHO, not very suitable... the F8.3 version is a bit too slow and the CA is quite obvious in the image even at F8.3 with VR filter... the F5 version will be far more worse.

Below are 2 images I took 3 years ago that I found in my hard disk:

If you want to have a low cost imaging scope with decent image, get a Newtonian.

Below is an image I took using my previous Celestron 8" F5 Newtonian:

Good luck in your imaging quest and have a nice day.
