Beautiful galaxy panorama

Post by Barry »

Went out into the dark forests of the mountains again last night.

God it's so beautiful out there.

Never safer and more at home do I feel under the magnificence of the Milky Way home in which we live.

Canon 400D/static tripod mounted/18-55 EF-s lens/35 second exposures/ISO800//RAW/multiple images stitched together/canon photostitch/

That is so beautiful Barry!

How did you resolve star-trails at 35-sec exposures? I've tried EOS500D, EFS18-55, 30-sec exposure but resulted in trails.

This is what I'm getting...

This is the full shot:

This is a crop of the shot:

EXIF:
Camera: Canon EOS 500D
Lens: EF-S 18-55 IS
Focal length: 18mm
Exposure: 30 sec
F-stop: f/4
ISO: 100

The trailing is very obvious...

Looks like your problem is light pollution (LP). Are you in a city? Get away from the LP by driving at least an hour away from any major city and try again.

Ok, thanks for the tip. Never thought of LP being the cause of it. Will give it another go soon :)
